Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father taught at school, and her mom was a homemaker. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick began performing and singing at a very young age. When she was just 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask whether the actress was looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, as she acted in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred for the firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately chosen to play The Brady Bunch La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the oldest daughter in the towheaded trio on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five years. McCormick stated in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. He was 19 years old. She was 16. The timing would not have been ideal for us, she told me.
